I've been playing with the 'Swirls' series for several years. The first public version of it as the main focus was done for an event in Boston in 2019.
The following version is placing the Swirls within the Trails series. For scale look for me- the white dot near the mid right.
This next one wasn't ready for prime time, but was a good idea- mashing up the Swirls with the Substructures series in which there are layers of pattern.
This version dominates a beach space and incorporates the long, harmonious strokes from the Flow artwork.
Swirls showed up in 2025 with this piece which I absolutely love. It overlays the swirls with the intersecting crack lines that first appeared nearly 20 years ago. Here’s a video of its creation.
And it showed up once again within this enormous collaborative work done for the Pismo Beach Sand Art festival.
