Ancient Grain - Salvaged Remnants

These artworks are designs carved onto wood from a local saw mill, which we use to process wood from our forestry management efforts of removing dead and dying trees for fire management. The mill has a pile of odd cuts and end pieces which cannot be used for construction projects and so are bound for the scrap heap or the fire place. I look through the piles and rescue interesting pieces to be turned into artworks. The carving is done with a router and Dremel.
